Canam Structures was awarded a major supply and install project for the Amazon Fulfillment Centre, a four-storey mega-warehouse located in Nepean, Ontario, which will become the largest Amazon order processing centre in Canada.
More than 20,500 tons of steel structure were fabricated in our plants for this building of approximately 2,800,000 ft2 (260,129.5 m2), 100 ft (30.5 m) high building. Erection began on August 10 and the building is planned to be closed on December 18, 2020 – a very tight schedule!
Topping off ceremony
On October 28, 2020, another milestone was reached in the completion of this project. A traditional topping off ceremony was held to mark the end of the steel structure erection of the main building.
“We are excited to once again partner with Amazon and begin construction of this newest fulfilment centre. Following the pandemic, we’ve trained our employees and set new protocols to ensure workers can do their job safely while respecting health guidelines,” said James Beach, Director of Real Estate and Development at Broccolini in Ottawa.
Canam Structures and Broccolini worked together to deliver this building on a tight schedule.
A proud moment for Canam Group!
