Description

Construction of the Amazon Fulfillment Centre, a four-storey mega-warehouse located in Nepean, Ontario, which becomes the largest Amazon order processing centre in Canada. This warehouse is automated and robotized with state-of-the-art technology and can handle more than 100,000 parcels per day.

Features

A very tight schedule

The delivery of steel components had to be accelerated in order to meet the client’s request; the structure had to be erected and the building closed before winter. The team was thus on a very tight schedule.

This implied simultaneous production of components at different Canam plants. Careful planning and coordination of deliveries were crucial to ensure this project’s success.

In addition, several last-minute changes were made  without any impact on the schedule.

More than 20,500 tons of steel structure were fabricated for this mega project.Area: 2,800,000 ft2 (260,129.5 m2), 100 ft (30.5 m) high building
